The recent Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards once again brought together many of Northern Ireland’s sporting fraternity to acknowledge and recognise those individuals, teams and organisations whose contribution to Ulster Sport has been outstanding.
One of the main winners at the awards evening was Wayne Boyd who is seen as one of the most talented teenagers to emerge onto the British motor racing stage since Lewis Hamilton. During 2008 he totally dominated the British Formula Ford championship with a string of victories against aspiring drivers from all round the world. Little wonder then that the gifted teenager won the Belfast Telegraph Young Player of the Year award, sponsored by Linwoods.
