Renowned Irish National Hunt jockey Paul Carberry made a rapid recovery from injury to take part in this year’s Irish Grand National, with support from energy drink brand Boost. Leading energy drinks brand Boost lent its support to Paul after learning of his injuries and donated its Energy, Sport and Active products to speed Paul’s recovery in time for the big race.
Paul sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung after being kicked in the chest in March, after taking first place in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. The injuries prevented him from taking part in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the John Smith’s Grand National, but Paul was fighting fit and ready to race Noel Meade’s horse, Casey Jones, in the Irish Grand National.
Commenting Paul said: “I’m thrilled to have made such a speedy recovery. Boost’s support and well wishes have been greatly appreciated and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.”
