The Henderson Group has just signed a deal with leading Irish renewable energy supplier, Airtricity to supply the Group’s three distribution centres and 72 stores with 100 per cent green electricity. The deal also includes an affinity agreement that will offer competitive pricing to all of the Group’s independent retailers, with an option to fix prices for up to 12 months. Commenting on the deal, Henderson Group Energy Manager, Dr Glen Crumley, said: “At the Henderson Group we are fully committed to our environmental policy. This includes reducing our energy consumption and our carbon footprint. Awarding this contract to Airtricity underpins this commitment as it harnesses the local resource of wind power and therefore reduces our contribution to the consumption of finite fossil fuels.
“Airtricity offers tailored electricity packages that combine competitive pricing with a professional customer service. This partnership is just one of the initiatives we are undertaking to encourage our employees, suppliers and customers to take their environmental responsibilities seriously.”
