For the second of this month’s retailer profiles, Kathy Jensen met up with Sean Morrison, owner, and Francis Foster, Store Manager, of the VIVOXTRA store and Texaco forecourt in Ballynahinch.

Sean Morrison has owned the forecourt and convenience store on the Belfast Road, Ballynahinch since 1985, though the business has been operating from the site since, perhaps, the 1950s. Up until its redevelopment as a VIVOXTRA two years ago, the store was little more than a 500 square foot kiosk, providing impulse and distress top-up convenience lines alongside car accessories, which complemented the car wash, car sales and mechanical repair and tyre service that Sean also operates from the site. While the original shop had been refurbished and upgraded over the years, its size and scope of service remained much the same until two years ago, when the site was completely redeveloped and a brand new 4,000 square foot VIVOXTRA was opened.
