Carrickfergus BARISTA BAR CAFÉ set to host community event after exclusive launch
The brand new and exclusive BARISTA BAR CAFÉ, which opened as part of the new SPAR Fortfield store in December 2018, has announced it will hold an event for the local community during the mid-term school break.
The outlet, which is the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland, opened at the end of last year, with the local staff welcoming in their neighbours in the past few months.
Adrian Mellon, Store Manager, says SPAR Fortfield has been well received in the area and he looks forward to it becoming a base for future community events. Adrian commented; “This area has a great sense of community and we’re really pleased to be part of it.
“The Café has become a haven for our local shoppers who are looking for a relaxed environment to catch up with friends, have business meetings, treat the kids or just sit, relax and enjoy a cuppa. We see our position as a really good opportunity to give more back to the community, starting with our family fun day in February.”
The event will take place during the mid-term school break on Tuesday 19 February from 3 – 5pm, offering free coffee for adults with a host of samples of the café’s sweet and savoury treats throughout the afternoon. Kids will be kept busy with face painting and balloon modelling, as well as special kids drinks and snacks.
Local primary schools are also being invited to join the fun by entering a drawing competition ahead of the event. Entry forms will be delivered to the schools and children will draw and describe their perfect afternoon snack, which they’re invited to submit during the event. The winner will be chosen by management before the end of the event and they will win a lunch for four people at BARISTA BAR CAFÉ.
Adrian continued; “We’ll also have lots more prizes to giveaway with our spin-to-win competition, where our guests could win anything from branded merchandise to free coffee for a month.”
Since BARISTA BAR CAFÉ opened, customers have been enjoying signature serves and customisable coffees alongside loose-leaf teas, hot chocolate, chai lattes and cold coffee blends. The BARISTA BAR premium pour-over single origin coffee has been particularly popular thanks to its slow brew and filter, meaning an even more enhanced flavour.
Adrian finished; “As a new business, we want to make sure our customers know they’re not just getting value for money when they visit us but added value and we look forward to meeting more of our neighbours during our event and over the coming months.”
The new café concept, BARISTA BAR CAFÉ, is the first of its kind to open in Fortfield, Carrickfergus offering an escape from the busy world outside with luxurious armchairs, charging ports, free wi-fi and a chilled-out background soundtrack.
